Emergency medical service selects Imviva Corporation to power realtime alerts for first responders MONTREAL, CANADA, December 9, 2003 -- Imviva Corporation, a leading provider of software solutions for the realtime enterprise, announced today that the City of Montreal, Borrough of Hampstead, Côte Saint-Luc, Montreal West Emergency Medical Services (EMS) has selected the Imviva Realtime Interaction Platform to help coordinate response to medical and public safety emergencies, and to disseminate scheduling and logistics information to crews. "When we set out to modernize our communications infrastructure, the Imviva platform was a logical choice," said Stéphane Kallos of EMS. "It was able to meet all our requirements and easily interface with our existing paging network. The message tracking features and expansion possibilities are particularly useful." Imviva's proprietary platform provides end-to-end management of events and exceptions, allowing organizations to identify time-sensitive events, alert the appropriate people, and facilitate the decision-making process, all in real-time. Alerts can be intelligently routed via mobile device, telephone, instant messaging client or email. "EMS has long been at the forefront of medical first response, and Imviva is proud to contribute to this success. I cannot think of many organizations where rapid response to events is more critical than in an EMS setting," said George Favvas, Co-founder and CEO of Imviva. "The fact EMS has selected the Imviva platform is a vote of confidence which will not go unnoticed by other organizations looking for a partner to help them real-time enable their business processes." About EMS EMS is Canada's busiest all-volunteer medical first responder service, answering over 3,500 emergency 9-1-1 calls every year in the Montreal Borough of Côte Saint-Luc / Hampstead / Montreal West. EMS provides 24 hour a day, 7 day a week service. The volunteers, all trained to the level of Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) including CPR and defibrillation, staff fully-stocked ambulances and have a maximum response time of two minutes. The organization is a recognized pioneer in the province of Quebec with an unprecedented 2-minute maximum response time. Its ambulances were the first in the province to carry defibrillators, allowing technicians to provide an advanced level of treatment for cardiac arrest on the scene – rather than at the hospital – thereby increasing the patient survival rate.
